TESL 0120- Unit 4 Reflections

At the first part of this unit, we discussed about the difficulties that teachers would face in teaching multilevel classes. "The Multilevel classes can provide opportunities for learners. Those with limited proficiency have an opportunity to interact with more proficient English speakers, and advanced learners benefit by using their English skills to help lower level students negotiate meaning". At the same time, this is a big challenge for the teacher to address all the diverse needs of a multilevel class (Mathews-Aydinli, J. & Van Horne. (April 2006-02). Teachers must be well-trained and have enough experiences to avoid frustrating learners while encouraging them to maximize their potential. It is essential that teachers can create an effective lesson plan that would address both below-level and above-level learners needs. The teacher constantly has to assess the level of comprehension and the degree of  a challenge that learners can handle.

For the last part of the class we created a speaking/listing plan.
